At 01:24hrs units were dispatched to the reported building fire in the 10000 block of Cash Rd. with Comm Center advising of receiving multiple calls and Stafford PD on scene confirming a fire. Upon arrival of Battalion 21 fire was reported from the D side of a large uniform company and command established on the A/D corner. With Truck 21 as fire attack and Engine 22 as RIT, 2 hand lines were stretched for a large amount of shop towels and uniforms on fire in the loading dock area as Engine 23 and Ladder 32 forced entry into the building. With the main body of fire knocked down in approximately 20-minutes, fire department personnel placed a fork lift into use to separate the tightly packed materials. Following overhaul, assisting the investigator and ventilation all units returned to service. During the incident Battalion 31 was the Incident Safety Officer with Ladder 2 and Engine 41 also on scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Stafford Fire Marshal’s Office.
