At Wednesday nights City Council meeting the purchase of a new 2000GPM pumper and 107′ quint apparatus was approved. These apparatus will replace existing apparatus which are experiencing increased maintenance costs while also providing the latest in technology and safety to the department fleet. The apparatus committee will be working with the chosen manufacturer, Pierce Manufacturing of Appleton, Wisconsin to ensure both apparatus meet the needs of the community and the department. Anticipated delivery time is October 2019 and will coincide with the opening of new Fire Station #2 on Mula Rd. When received the new truck will be assigned to Fire Station #1 as Truck 21 and the new pumper assigned to Fire Station #2 as Engine 22. The current 2016 Pierce 107′ will then be reassigned to Fire Station #3 as Truck 23. We are very appreciative of the support of city council for ensuring the department is well equipped to serve the community and these new apparatus will enhance this capability.
