This morning the new Truck 21 was delivered to the department. Ironically following completion of apparatus familiarization training on new Engine 22, personnel set about loading hose, tools and equipment. Following this and other minor adjustments the new Truck 21 went into service at approximately 18:30hrs. The new apparatus is a 2019 Pierce Enforcer 107′ Ascendant aerial with a 2000GPM single stage pump, 480-gallon tank and 20-gallon Class A foam tank. Attack lines consist of 1-3/4″, 2″ and 2-1/2″ with supply line of 1000′ of 5″ LDH. In addition to a full set of Holmatro extrication equipment, there is a complete lifting bag set and 3-thermal imaging cameras. The new Truck 21 is assigned to Fire Station #1 and replaces a 2016 Pierce Enforcer 107′ Ascendant which will be assigned as Truck 23 at Fire Station #3 in the coming weeks. Many thanks to the apparatus committee for their work on both new apparatus, department personnel who placed both into service and the Mayor and City Council for their continued support.
