At 10:24hrs units were dispatched to the reported person trapped in the conveyor system of a local package distribution facility. Upon arrival a male subject was found on an elevated portion of a metal chute with his arm entrapped by the roller system up to his chest. With FBCEMS Medic 10 providing patient care FD personnel worked with facility maintenance personnel to identify if the roller could be loosened and/or freed to gain space to extricate the patient. With only a 1/4″ of space gained by displacing the roller personnel placed the Holmatro spreader into operation gaining additional needed space. Cribbing as they spread sufficient space was gained and the patient freed from the conveyor and placed on a stokes basket. The crew of Truck 21 then completed the haul up the chute ramp and then lowered the patient to the ground. Upon completion of extrication the patient was transported to the Texas Medical Center.
