At 15:17hrs the light structure was dispatched for a possible structure fire in the 1300 block of Guadalupe St. As crews were loading up the incident was upgraded due to multiple calls with Tower 31 calling a visible column moments later. Arriving 5-minutes later Engine 24 initially reported a large trash fire due to the setback with a revised size-up moments later advising of a large pile of debris, a vehicle and a 1-story wood frame single family residence on fire. Deploying an attack line Engine 24 operated as fire attack, Tower 31 opened up, Truck 22 stretched a 2nd hand line, Engine 23 a 3rd handline and Battalion 21 as the Incident Safety Officer. With priority given to the house then the large trash fire companies achieved a knockdown and completed searches within 15-minutes and began overhaul. Due to propane cylinders involved in the fire FBCHMT was also requested and determined no hazards where present while Cascade 71 responded for cylinders. Additional units on scene included Engine 11 who rotated for relief, Battalion 31 as Accountability Officer, C2102 as Water Supply and Battalion 11. Upon completion of assignments all units returned to service with the cause under investigation by the FBC Fire Marshal’s Office.
