At 18:51hrs Truck 21 was sent on the MCFRS box for the reported house fire in the 3000 block of Cherry Hills. Upon arrival of Engine 33 heavy smoke was reported from a 1-story SFD and an offensive attack initiated. With Tower 31 going to the roof and Engine 36 conducting a primary search, Truck 21 upon arrival was briefly assigned the RIT but then reassigned to fire attack due to escalating fire conditions as Engine 3 assumed the RIT assignment. With fire conditions rapidly increasing and progress limited in the congested house all units were withdrawn and a defensive operation begun with Tower 31. After achieving knock down companies returned inside for hotspots and overhaul. All SFD units returned to service just before 21:00hrs.
