At 09:57hrs, as companies where preparing for a drill, neighboring Sugar Land Engine 3 was dispatched to the reported auto-pedestrian accident with subject trapped under the vehicle on Lexington Blvd. Being not far away, 2101, Battalion 21 and Truck 22 added themselves to the record and arrived to find 1-male subject, who was climbing out of a manhole and was struck, under a pickup truck suffering extensive lower extremity injuries. As they began to deploy their lifting bags Engine 3 achieved extrication using the spreaders and personnel reoriented to trauma assessment and care while awaiting air medical. Upon patient transfer Truck 22 personnel then relocated 200′ away to extricate the driver of the striking vehicle using the cutters and spreaders. Upon completion of assignments all units returned to service.
