As everyone continues to wrap themselves around the impacts CV-19 has had on all of our lives, the City of Stafford Fire Department, like all others around the globe, is having to adapt to these changes while also continuing to provide service to our community in this most trying time. In addition to the normal activities of station, apparatus and equipment maintenance, training, drills and incident response, new aspects of detailed disinfection, daily temperature checks, additional specialized PPE on the apparatus with its own associated logistics and other aspects have been added to the daily life of the fire department. While these responsibilities seem daunting, like every previous challenge put upon the American Fire Service, the fire department and City of Stafford will step up and accept the challenge and carry through to the end for the community we serve.
We ask that everyone please remember a few basic concepts during these extraordinary times…adhere to social distancing recommendations of at least 6′ separation from others, wash your hands frequently plus use hand sanitizer, if you don’t feel well or have a temperature don’t go to work or be around others and if you cough or sneeze be mindful of what you touch. Everyone should wipe down surfaces, door handles and other common items shared by others and simply stay home if at all possible.
We as a city, as a county, as a state and as a country can get through this. We must simply have the resolve, the discipline and determination. We can do this.
