This evening Fort Bend County EMS Chief Graig Temple and Assistant Chief Brian Petrilla gave an overview and familiarization of the AMBUS and new auto-load stretchers being placed into service within the county. The AMBUS is one of thee such units in the greater Houston area and intended to be utilized for Mass Casualty Incident’s (MCI) where 10+ patients require transport to the ER. Additionally this unit can be utilized for fire ground rehab, hazardous materials incidents and function in a limited command post application. The new auto-load feature allows the loading and unloading of patients without the physical exertion previously needed by personnel thereby limiting the chance of injuries as well as the unintended movement of patients. Thank you to FBCEMS for educating us on these advancements.
