At 10:29hrs the box was dispatched for the possible fire in the building at 13843 Stafford Rd. While enroute the incident was upgraded with Engine 24 going on scene 4-minutes later reporting smoke showing from a large 1-story commercial food processing facility. With Engine 24 deploying their apartment lay Battalion 21 established command with Truck 22 going to the roof, Engine 23 assisting fire attack, Engine 31 performing searches, Ladder 32 as the RIT and Battalion 31 as the Incident Safety Officer. Finding heavy smoke in the large facility Engine 24 located the fire involving a large commercial fryer with extension through the ductwork to the roof line. As a knockdown was being achieved on the inside Truck 22 reported fire venting from the ductwork exhaust on the roof and repositioned a handline for use. With all visible fire knocked down companies began ventilation efforts and awaited the Fire Marshal. Upon completion of assignments and assisting SFMO Investigators all units returned to service at 12:45hrs. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Stafford Fire Marshals’ Office.
