At 16:58hrs Engine 22 was dispatched to the automatic fire alarm in the 10100 block of Cash Rd. As Engine 22 was pulling off the apron a citizen pulled onto the apron and reported to the crew of Rescue 22 of smoke coming from a building. As this additional information was being received, WestCom upgraded the incident and started the balance of the assignment with Engine 22 arriving moments later reporting smoke showing from a large 1-story commercial laundry facility. With investigation revealing a large industrial dryer on fire, a pre-connect attack line was stretched. Given the systems of the dryer would not allow its shut down or to be opened, Truck 21 and Rescue 22 were assigned to assist using the Holmatro battery spreaders which quickly gained entry. Following a knock on the fire, units performed overhaul until released by the arrival of the Stafford Fire Marshal’s Office.
