At 05:17hrs units were dispatched to the reported MVA with entrapment in the 3600 block of Highway 90. While enroute SPD confirmed entrapment and upon arrival of units confirmed same of 1-driver heavily pinned following hitting a pole. With the single driver conscious and pinned, with the trucks engine in the passenger compartment, crews began stabilization and extrication as FBCEMS Medic 603 requested Air Medical to fly. With personnel from Truck 22 and Engine 23 using each of their Holmatro sets a difficult extrication was completed at approximately the 45-minute mark. Following completion of extrication, and with fog preventing Air Medical from flying, the patient was transported by ground to the Level I Trauma Center in the TMC.
