At 10:08hrs Truck 21 and Battalion 21 were added to the commercial fire in the 3300 block of State Highway 6 in Sugar Land. Upon arrival all companies where working to access fire running the roof and void spaces of a 2-story restaurant. Truck 21, assigned to Division C, was assigned to open up wall space to expose hidden fire running from the eve to the peak. With multiple saws and brute force this assignment was completed despite the lightweight concrete nature of the material. During these efforts 2101 was assigned as Division 2 and with multiple companies exposed fire running the bottom side of the roof structure in the abnormally high 12′-14′ second floor storage area. Following the very labor intensive efforts of everyone on scene, and a slight rehab period, Truck 21 and 2101 returned to service at approximately 12:30hrs. During the incident companies from Missouri City, Stafford, Richmond, Northeast, Needville and Houston Fire Departments assisted on scene with other companies backing in for coverage.
