At 20:29 Rescue 22 was special called to the opposite end of Fort Bend County to assist the Beasley Fire Department with an SUV which had rear-ended a parked car hauler and was wedged into the loading ramp of the trailer with the driver heavily trapped. With the initial impact having destroyed the trailer hydraulic system, and the top level vehicle deck having collapsed onto the SUV, Rescue 22 backed into position and slung loaded the top deck. With the top deck and stored vehicle load secured and lifted approximately 8″ by Rescue 22 the gained space was further reinforced with struts allowing the dash and sidewall removal of the SUV to be completed. Upon completion of extrication the patient was turned over to PHI Air Medical for transport to the Level I Trauma center in the TMC. Following completion of assignments all units returned to service within 30-minutes.
